Those Damn Ducks!

Coco and I got a chance to do some real swimming today and I ALMOST got myself a duck or two. My swimming has reached a new level and I was SOOOO close to a duck that I could almost taste her. Then, just as I was about snatch the duck, she flew away. FLEW, that's cheating! Later I was chasing down two and was getting VERY close. Then, one went to the left and one to the right. It was just enough to get me confused I watched one, then I turned to look at the other and then my only option was to turn around and swim for shore. I made it look like that was just what I had in mind so I wouldn't be embarrassed.

Jodie was out of her element chasing the duck. Oh, I chased them at first, but even a beagle knows that ducks and gees can fly and the best dog doesn't stand a chance of catching one in the water. You have to lurk in the bushes and wait for the duck to get close. Then, at the last possible moment, leap at the duck and grab it by the neck. Ya gotta get the neck, cause if you grab the body the duck will peck your eyes or pull your ears. I was having a ball chasing a stick. It's not the most fun, but the old man really digs the interaction and I do the fetching thing to please him. I also think it leads to more cookies and treats.

I heard the two-paws and I think we'll be visiting the river again, so we want to behave for the time being. You may have noticed that I've been very good the last few days because I'm pretty sure that they know it was me who ate all the pastry the other day.

I'm surprised you didn't get sick. Since that episode with those little fish, I've been keeping away from over indulging in foods. It's been a long day and I'm about ready to crash.

Me too. G'night Coco.

G'night Jodie.
